In the afternoon of 21 July 2008, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vu Hoang Ha received and worked with Science and Technology Joint Stock Company (Tham Quyen Province - China) on its study to seek investment opportunities in Vietnam. Binh Dinh is one of lthree locations (Hanoi and HCMC) which they choose to carry out surveys.

At the beginning of May 2008, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung approved the overall plan of socio-economic development for Central Vietnam from now till 2020. Of the total VND2,333,000 billion invested in Central Vietnam, nearly VND411,000 billion is designated for the 2006 -2010 period, nearly VND608,000 billion for the 2011 - 2015 period and VND1,314,000 billion for the 2016 - 2020 period.
