2. Project location: Binh Dinh Province

3. Project objectives:

Binh Dinh has more than 13,000 ha grown with coconut trees, distributed concentratedly in the districts of Hoai Nhon, Hoai An, Phu My and Phu Cat. The products, including those from the neighbouring areas, are roughly 50- 60 million nuts per year. The implementation of the project will contribute to the development of the food processing industry, producing a constant output of coconut products thus raising the living standard of the farming population.

4. Project scale:

- To set up coconut-based processing establishments, with a capacity of 10-20 million nuts/ year.

- Line of products: Dried, scraped coconut milk, activated carbon, coconut fiber/thread, canned coconut juice, extracted oil, coconut butter and cream, cosmetics, coconut timber, coconut saw-dust plywood, bio-fuel, etc.

5. Expected budget: USD2.5 million
