2. Project location: Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province

3. Project objectives:

Constructing infrastructure facilities for the establishment and development of an general economic zone covering 12,000ha in area, involving multi-purpose activities including industry, seaport, tourism, trade and service, and new urban areas. The economic zone comprises two functional zones: The non-tariff zone of 545ha including free port area, central area, export processing zone, warehouses, etc., and the tariff zone of 11,455ha including tariff port, ship-yard, industrial zone, tourist areas, residential areas and administration buildings.

4. Project scale:

- Roads and streets: The road and bridge across Thi Nai lagoon, connecting Quy Nhon to Phuong Mai peninsula is expected to complete in 2006. In the subsequent years, the main access and inner road system of the economic zone and the roads by the side of Thi Nai lagoon will be built and upgraded.

- Seaport: Constructing Nhon Hoi Port with a capacity of 11.5 - 12 million tons per year and a wharf which is capable of handling 50,000DWT vessels.

- Power supply: Setting up a main transformer station and a network of transmission and distribution lines.

- Water supply: Setting up a pumping station supplying fresh water to the industrial and residential areas.

- Waste water and solid waste treatment: Constructing waste water treatment system for the industrial and urban areas; setting up the solid waste treatment system for the entire economic zone.
