3. Project objectives:

It is capable to establish a geothermal electricity scheme in Phu Cat district, where there exists Hoi Van Hot Spring, which is being harnessed to serve the purposes of healthcare and remedial cure. The geothermal temperature is averaged at 150⁰Cand that of surface water being 85⁰C. It is very likely to construct 10 - 15 bore wells on the surface of the hot spring to divert the course of hot water into the power generating system. This project will exploit the geothermal energy under the socio-economic development plan of the province.

4. Project Scale:

Setting up a geothermal power plant at Hoi Van with estimated capacity of 20-25 MW. Total construction area: 30 ha, including:

+ Bore wells: occupying most of the area.

+ Power plant and administration building : 2-3 ha

5. Expected budget: USD5 million
