The Belgian delegation paid a working visit to Binh Dinh03 October 2007In the morning of October 2, at the office of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee, Vice-chairman Nguyen Van Thien received and had a meeting with the delegation of Belgian experts led by Mr Patrick De Bouck, Head of Development Cooperation Division at the Embassy of Belgium Hanoi. Joining the delegation are representatives of Belgian Development Cooperation Agency and Belgian Technical Cooperation in Brussels. Also joining the meeting, as for Binh Dinh Province, are leaders of Departments of Planning and Investment, Argriculture and Rural development, Natural resources and Environment, Construction.
The meeting scene on 02 October At the meeting, Vice-chairman Nguyen Van Thien introduced an overview on the project proposals of Binh Dinh Province. The two sides exchanged some related contents in order to have the best Identification Files. Accordingly, the province registered the list of two projects for the cooperation program between Viethnam and the Kingdom of Belgium within 2006- 2010, including: (i) “Rubbish dump and solid waste treatment project”, totally capitalized at VND69 billion, of which Belgian Government will finance VND55 billion, serving 240,000 inhabitants at Districts of Hoai Nhon, An Nhon, Phu My and Phu Phong; (ii) “Water supply project in Binh Dinh Province”, including 02 sub- projects: Supplying running water at Phu Cat District and Upgrading Hóc Môn reservoir at Phu My District, with the total capital of VND71.88 billion, of which VND60 billion are funded by Belgian Government, supplying clean water for 57,000 inhabitants and irrigation water for 262 hectares of farming land.The project’s goal will improve the health status of rural inhabibants, minimizing water- related infectious deseases by improving the supply of clean water; raising the rural living standards, ensuring that all rural inhabitants will use clean water of national quality standards, narrowing the gap between cities and rural areas; collecting rubbish and solid waste at district areas and surrounding areas, creating an urban landscape for a green, clean, beautiful environment.After the meeting, the delegation had a visit to locations as mentioned in the province’s proposals. |
