Binh Dinh: Semiar on the application of information technology in trade of timber industry

In the morning of 08/12/2007, Vietnam Timber and Forest Product Association (Vietfores), the Department of Industry of Binh Dinh Province and the I.P. Online Communication Technology Joint Stock Company held the Seminar titled “the Application of information technology in trade of Vietnam’s timber industry”. The seminar aims to provide information and orientation of applying the information technology to promote trade, introducing images and products of timber processing enterprises from domestic to international market. Joining the seminar are the representatives of the Electronic Commerce Department (under MOIT), the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), the Vietnam Timber and Forest Product Association (Vietfores), the provincial Departments of Industry, Planning and Investment, Binh Dinh Province Industrial Zones Authority, the Office of Binh Dinh People’s Committee, and the wood processing enterprises located in Binh Dinh Province and neighbouring provinces. The seminar was financed by the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, Phu Tai Branch.

Ms Do Thi Hang, Director of the I.P. Online Communication Technology Joint Stock Company told that Binh Dinh is chosen as a top priority to organise the seminar for it is one of the two wood processing and export centers throughout the country as well as a place having big potential for the application of information technology which helps the timber processing and export enterprises to access to the market price, sources of raw materials, equipments and the World’s advanced technology of wood processing to save time and cost in commercial transaction.
