Lower auto tariff

The Finance Ministry has decided to lower the tariff for imported new automobiles to 80% from 90%, effective from January 11. The lower tariff will apply to sedans of eight seats or less, mini vans of 10 seats or more, four-wheel drives, cars with capacity of 1,800-4,000cc, and vehicles with engines designed for human transport, including those with baggage storage space, race cars and golf carts. The ministry is considering lowering the tariff for used cars by 5-20%.
