Saigon Invest Group to invest a paper pulp producing plant in Binh Dinh26 April 2007Ceremony of granting investment certificate to Optivest Investments Pte.Ltd
In the afternoon of 29 March 2007, Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee held the ceremony of granting the investment certificate of Quy Nhon Memorial Park Project to Optivest Investments Pte. Ltd (under Boustead Group).
Quy Nhon Memorial Park with the first phase capital of USD5 million is located at an area of 12 hectare over the height of 12-14 meter- the mountainside area to the East, Long Van-Suoi Trau St., Tran Quang Dieu Ward, Quy Nhon City. It is a place for cremation, grave exhumation, and permanent ashes-storage, constructed pursuant to the modern design of park, crematorium and columbarium. It is expected to start construction in April of 2007 and operations in the middle of 2008. Optivest Binh Dinh Co., Ltd is established to conduct the project.
Addressing the ceremony , “With the imvestment of this crematorium and columbarium project, Binh Dinh Province will have a project constructed in the modern design within the natural landscaping and beautiful surrounding sceneries. Peoples are provided with civilized cremating services which avoid environment pollution and reduce the land space” said Mr Vu Hoang Ha- Chairman of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee. He also committed to improve the investment environment, creating the best conditions for domestic and foreign businesses to invest in Binh Dinh Province.
Mr Wong Fong Fui-Chairman of Boustead Group affirmed that Quy Nhon Memorial Park was the latest design in Vietnam. Besides the idea of a crematorium and columbarium, it is a park for the living to relax and visit the deceased. Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee has submitted a proposed correspondence to the Prime Minister for a policy on constructing a paper pulp plant in Nhon Hoa Commune, An Nhon District, Binh Dinh Province, invested by Saigon Invest Group with VND2,500 billion.It is anticipated that the plant with the capacity of 150,000 tons/year will start operation after 27-30 months of construction on an area of 50-100 hectares. The scale of raw materials (kinds of sandalwood and wattle trees) serving for the plant is 45,000 hectares.If the plant project is feasible, it will exploit remarkably the potentials of local and surounding paper materials, stimulating the development of forestry, boosting crop fabric shift, improving the ecological environment, implementing the policy of hunger elimination and poverty reduction for highland and rural people.
