The joint mission Vietnam - Belgium paid a working visit to Binh Dinh

In the morning of August 7, at the office of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee, Vice - chairman Nguyen Van Thien received and had a meeting with the Joint Mission Vietnam - Belgium led by Mr Patrick De Bouck, Head of Belgian development agency. Joining the delegation are representatives of Foreign Economic Relations Department (the Ministry of Planning and Investment), International Cooperation Department (the Government Ofice). Also joining the meeting, as for Binh Dinh Province, are leaders of Departments of Planning and Investment, Argriculture and Rural development, Natural resources and Environment, and Construction.
At the meeting, the two sides exchanged the cooperation possibility for the year 2008 and the following years. The supply of running water, the improvement of sanitation conditions and the treatment of solid waste are the main focuses which Belgian Government selects for financing. Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee proposed the work of detecting 03 projects such as: (i) Rubbish dump and solid waste treatment at Disticts of Hoai Nhon, Phu My, An Nhon, Tay Son; (ii) System of supplying running water at Southeast Phu Cat; (iii) Upgrading reservoirs for irrigation and running water supply at Phu My District. The totally expected capital for the above projects is EURO 5 million. After the meeting, the delegation had site visits to the project areas.
At present, Binh Dinh has being carried out 03 projects receiving financial support from Belgian Governments: (i)Solid waste treatment in Quy Nhon City; (ii) Supply of clean water at Phu My Town and (iii) the improvement of the irrigation system at Phu My District.
