Ground - breaking ceremony of the projects of Vinh Son III Hydropower, Vinh Son IV Hydropower, Vinh Son V Hydropower

Binh Dinh, 27 April 2008, Vinh Son - Song Hinh Hydropower Joint Stock Company and Vinh Son Investment Joint Stock Company jointly held the ground-breaking of the projects of Vinh Son III Hydropower, Vinh Son IV Hydropower, Vinh Son V Hydropower at Vinh Son Commune, Vinh Thanh District. Joining the ceremony were Deputy chairman of National Assembly Tran Ngoc Duong, Deputy secretary of Provincial Party Committee Pham Van Thanh, Vice – chairman of Provincial People Committee Nguyen Van Thien and representatives of relevant agencies, People’s Committee of Vinh Thanh District, Communes in the project region.
The projects are built over an upper area of Kon River at Vinh Son Commune, Vinh Thanh District cluding Vinh Son III Hydropower Plant has its capacity of 32MW, yearly production of 102 million KWh, with the investment capital of VND 660 billion; Vinh Son IV Hydropower Plant has its capacity of 18MW, yearly production of 72 million KWh, with the investment capital of VND 400 billion; Vinh Son V Hydropower Plant has its capacity of 28MW, yearly production of 98 million KWh, with the investment capital of VND 600 billion
The projects were constructed from 2008 until 2011. Once operational, the plants will ensure the national power security, regulating the irrigation water supply for argricultural production at the lower area, creating favourable conditions for fishery cultivation, improving the environment and developing the tourism services for the West area of the province.
