Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of New Zealand in Vietnam paid a working visit to Binh Dinh29 May 2008In the afternoon of 28 May, 2008, at the office of Binh Dinh Province People’s Committee, Vice- chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh received and had a meeting with Mr James Kember, New Zealand ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary in Vietnam and Mr John Egan, Director of New Zealand’s International Aid & Development Agency (NZAID). Also joining the meeting are the leadership representatives of the Departments of Planning and Investment, Heath, Argriculture and Rural Development, Education and Training and local news agencies.At the meeting, Vice - chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Binh expessed her sincere gratitute to the New Zealand Government, especially the Embassy of New Zealand in Ha Noi, New Zealand’s International Aid & Development Agency (NZAID) in developing the development cooperation programmes in Binh Dinh province over the past years. The Vice- chairwoman provided the reports on the implementing result of the project ‘Maternal and Child Health in Binh Dinh’ (VIE/03/P20); the implementing progress of the project ‘Early Childhood Care and Education’ (ECCE); the working result with the delegation of NZAID’s experts on its recent visit to design the English Language Training for Officials programme (ELTO); and proposed the project of reproductive health care for workers and students of career training schools in the province.The Ambassdor also informed the content of the ODA dialogue held in last August between the Ministry of Planning and Investment and NZAID on the NZAID’s national strategy intended for Vietnam until 2015. The two sides together exchanged certain matters to remove barriers in disbursing the projects in the fiscal year of 2008.On 29 May, the Ambassdor and his delegation will attend the Seminar on discussing initial results of the Health Entrust Fund Vietnam - New Zealand in Binh Dinh. |
